EAP Assist is an Australian company established in 2008 providing employees with confidential phone counselling & digital support throughtout Australia & overseas. Research indicates that the most crucial aspect of effective assistance is for it to be provided as quickly as possible with employees preferring telephone counselling above all other mediums. Counselling is solution focused to address both workplace & personal concerns available to all employees & their immediate family. The aim of our counselling is to resolve both work & personal problems before they impact adversely on work performance & general well-being.

Common issues include workplace conflict, difficult working relationships, stress, workplace change & workplace trauma as well as personal issues such as depression, grief, anxiety, alcohol and substance abuse, gambling & other addictions, communication problems & self-esteem. These issues can cause work problems such as absenteeism, poor productivity, high staff turnover, reduced performance & low job satisfaction & may also affect an employee’s health and well-being as well as their ability to cope with the demands of everyday life.

Our clients include small employers with few staff right through to multinational companies with hundreds of employees in Australia, NZ, USA, Canada & UK with different Plans to suit each employer.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

An employee assistance program (EAP) supports employees with work-related problems as well as personal problems that may impact on their job performance, health & mental well-being. An EAP offers employer funded confidential counselling for employees & their family members as well as consultative support for managers & supervisors to address employee & organizational challenges & needs.

Employee Assistance Programs were first formed in the late 1930s to dealt with occupational alcoholism. Businesses quickly realized the effectiveness of an EAP through the rehabilitation of their workers & the rise of productivity. Soon Employee Assistance Programs expanded to include services to deal with marital, emotional, financial, legal & drug abuse problems. In more recent years services provided by EAPs have moved to include trauma, stress & depression as well as general wellbeing.

Studies indicate that offering Employee Assistance Programs may result in various benefits for employers, including reduced turnover & absenteeism as well as higher employee productivity & that the provision of  EAP services need to be immediate.

An employer who provides an effective EAP can help both themselves & their employees by lowering risk & liability, improving employee satisfaction & especially decreasing the stress business owners experience when managing numerous responsibilities.
